ENVIRONMENT

We take our responsibilities seriously

Space launches go hand in hand with a responsibility, both to people and to the environment. In line with the UK Space Bill, we take special care to ensure our engines go through rigorous testing and quality assurance stages. Moreover, we take special care to ensure our engines use green hydrogen peroxide oxidiser to minimise the impact on the Earth’s atmosphere.

The figures below show the small amount of exhaust products emitted into the atmosphere, resulting from the reaction of burning hydrogen peroxide and kerosene in our engines’ combustion chambers:

IN WEIGHT FRACTIONS

IN MASS OVER THE FLIGHT

m      = 242 kg - mass of the exhausted carbon dioxide

m     = 590 kg - mass of the exhausted monoxide

m    = 107 kg - mass of the exhausted molecular hydrogen

m       = 1167 kg - mass of the exhausted water vapour
